I have a 99 Tahoe 4x4 4 door 350 cu in. I have a battery isolator, but it doesn't work with the GM Alternator. Apparently the alternator is not self exciting

Does anyone else use a battery isolator? What did you use?

Ok, maybe no one uses a battery isolater.

What I can tell you is on my Tahoe, the 3 post battery isolator does not work.

I think I have to use a CS type (4 post) battery isolator but am not 100% sure.

Here's thier reply.

Hello Michael,

Please call the tech dept. at 800-862-7223 and give them your alternator and isolator part number and they should be able to diagnose your problem. If your problem can not be diagnosed they will give you an RGA number to send the unit back for repair or replacement.

Best Regards,
