Why can I not seem to find the way to have one anymore? Was this turned off in the great crash of 2009? ha-ha.

    My re-introduction to TF.

I'm a noob. I spend most of my time at www.tahoeyukonforum.com Rides: 1997 tahoe: DC 6.5" set to 8" up front, 6" procomp springs out back, Bilsteins all around, 35x12.5/17 Kumho Road Venture MTs, 17x9 ATX Atrilley wheels, 4.56 yukons with Trutrac, 383 stroker, K&N FIPK, PCMforless custom...

3 front 2 back - leveling kit question

I would advise some longer shocks, like bilsteins. I'd also like to poitn out that new keys for the GMT400 platform trucks is a waste of money as teh stock keys are more than enough to crank until you reach the stops which is obviously too much. Replacement keys are used on the newer trucks...

leafsprings from 2000 silverado fit 96 tahoe?

I do not think they will fit. I think the tahoe has 54" springs (4 door) and the silverado has 56". I thought I read this somewhere but I am not positive. At the time I was looking to replace my sagging springs and the 2 doors are 52" springs.

    leveling kit

do you mean the torsion bar keys? if you do I do not think it will help. Take a picture of the front of the truck...suspension set up on each side. Sounds like you just have the bars cranked a lot.

how and what do i need to lower a lifted hoe?

For an older tahoe....may be more cost effective to buy another tahoe.

    2 door 4x4 lift kit .. ?

pro-comp and DC/Extreme suspensions are good choices. Doesn't matter how often you off road, it is how you off road when you do.

What is the best mod you have done so far?

Just for fun, I was curious to see what people think are the best things they've done to the trucks so far. It doesn't have to be power related, function is fine or ever style. I'd have to say mine is the lift and the 383 with the custom tune:iq: The hood and grill guard give it a great...

    The loud whining noise!!!

If it is under the hood and you can hear it, get a piece of heater hose a foot or two long. This is be like a stethoscope, you know one end on your ear the other at different spots that the noise seems to be coming from. It has worked for me in the past...a few car builders I know tought me...

I want to say the hood is harwood, it is a fiberglass one. I now remember I got the bumber from a local speed shop, they had it on the floor and I loved it.

I honestly can't remember, it was one of the first things I put on the truck about 8 years ago.
