Problem wasn't related. But both was caused by a rodent chewing on the wires.

antilock brake warning light came on scanner showed problems with left and right wheel sensors. Brakes still worked ok so i thought i fix it later. Hoped in to run a errant at first stop light transfer shifted to 4 low and wont shift back to 2 high could problems be related.

response to lester I followed the diagnostic outline recommended by alldata which covers your recommendations. It appears the ecm is the problem. Thanks for your response.

I have a 99 Tahoe, cruise control started working part time then finally not at all. I checked it as per alldata subscription. It appears the ecm is defective. I hate to replace ecm unless sure any other ideas.
