Follow up, I took the truck to local mechanic he read the codes 0327 and told me it was the encoder motor. I read a lot of forums and found instructions and pictures on replacement of the encoder. My motor still shifted I ordered the part from parts direct and replaced it this Saturday...

I have a 06 Z71 when i compared it to a LT it appears higher and it is defintley stifer i tow a 17 foot boat with no drop. I guess the the best way to see the differance is get a large friend and go to a dealer and have him stand on the hitch of a LT and Z71 and see for your self
