    Another Towing Question

I just had the rear end replaced in my 2007 Yukon, 4WD w/3.73 gears. Had towed a Pace box trailer several times to Texas and back. Tech said the flat front of the trailer provided a high wind load on vehicle. He said they are changing front and rear diff fluid from the stock 75w-90 synth to...

    max towing

My 2007 Yukon 4 WD with 3.73 gears and 60,700 miles was just in the dealer's for a rear end rebuild. Started hearing some noise from rear end a few weeks ago. Had tires rotated but didn't help. I checked rear end fluid and it was full, but there was a LOT of filings on the end of the magnetic...

    fuel gauge flutter

Same thing happened on my 1999 K2500 Suburban. Gas gauge started vibrating rapidly in Dec 2006. Took it to dealer - they diagnosed and installed a new gauge cluster. Problem fixed.

    GM emblem & Debadging

    I've used WD-40 on a soft rag, followed by Meguire's cleaner/wax.

anyone else with 6.2 ltz tahoe?

The torque management system probably reduces the risk of power train failure enough to allow them to offer their 100,000 mile power train warranty.

    Oil change interval

I had changed my oil every 3,000 miles in every car I owned for over 50 years, and have come to the conclusion that with today's improved oils, engine materials and technology, it's a waste of money (and oil). I now use synthetic oil and change it when my oil life indicator shows 5 - 8% remaining.

    2008 Hybrid Talk

Don't know about the 2008s, but the 2009 Yukon Hybrid comes stock with P265/65R-18 tires. The non-hybrid still has P265/70R-17 shoes. Maybe the different profile makes the wheel well openings look different. I also see an option for a spare tire and wheel for $995 on the 2009 Yukon Hybrid.

    Tire Time

I've had two sets of Michelin LTX M/S on my 1999 GMC Suburban K2500. First set was fine; second set developed cracks in the sidewalls at an early age. A few hunderd miles ago I ditched the cracked Michelins in favor of Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor Pro Grade (Pro Grade for the 3/4 ton load...

    Intake Gasket Replacement

Not sure about the 5.7L, but I have had several intake manifold gaskets replaced in my 1999 7.4L Suburban since it was new. The last replacement was in Dec 2005, the dealer did the work. They replaced both the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets (I have a two piece intake manifold on the...

    2009 Tahoe Pricing

Probably this time next year for the same deep discounts. But I remember that GM had a nice sale on President's Day last year, so I bet they will again come this February.

    Resetting Tire Pressure Monitoring System

I found that the TPMS seems to react quicker to deflating the tire, so that's how I retrain the system. It only takes letting out 4 psi or so to get the system to recognize each tire, so it goes pretty quick. Plus you don't have to drag an air hose around to each tire if you are trying to use...

    Remote start problem

My 2007 Yukon did the exact same thing last winter. It was very cold outside, the Yukon spent the night in the driveway. I tried to remote start it in the morning. It started and ran for less than 5 seconds, then turned itself off. I tried to remote start a second time - it would not crank -...

    Keyless Remote Problem

I had that happen to my 2007 Yukon about a year ago, and noticed I had some other issues. In my case, it was only the two front doors that would not lock. The two back doors and the tail gate would lock, but not the front doors. I got back in the vehicle and tried to lock the doors using the...
