I have a 2003 Vortex 5.3 LM7 engine in an Auburn replica car. It has dual exhausts with no cross over pipes. At cold idle I get wet fuel spewing out the right (passenger) side tail pipe. The left is fine. Any ideas?
I had our local Chevy dealer, Penske, fix the problem as I am losing my desire to dig into such matters at this time in my life. Here's how they described the problem: "removed door panels and found both doors lock assemblies electrically working normal. Found rust in inside door release...
Crazy problem! Suddenly both rear doors cannot be open from either the outside or inside. The electric door unlock actuators work. First indication a problem was beginning is when closing the door it would not latch. Both went out at same time. I hope I don't have to take the door panels...
Glad to see got your answers. I just ordered the electro-mag strut from my STS. The GM parts websites all selected the wrong strut, even when I entered my VIN. I called my local dealer's parts dept and he gave me the correct part number, which I ordered from Rockauto for a 40% savings. Good...
I suggest you call a Chevy dealer to get the p/n for your VIN, and a price, and chase it from that direction. I can't tell the difference either. Good luck!
We have a 2007 LT with the 5.3l engine. It had 19,000 miles on it and now has 56,000. It is our 2nd Tahoe (other was a '95) and they are great vehicles in so many regards. Only bummer was the tranny went out at 25k miles!!! Totally a fluke as our other Tahoe had 165k on it and it shifted...
It's time to replace my pads and rotors. I was looking at the Rockauto site and there must be no less than 50 choices. I would like to get materials that have excellent bite and hopefully do not leave much residue on the wheels. I noticed there are towing, heavy duty, and police grades. Does...
Hi Raiderron.
No recent work and no codes. What you say makes sense. How can I confirm either of these possible conditions exist? If I use starting fuel (ether) I suppose that would confirm the absence of fuel at the beginning of engine cranking?
She can be very hard to start when cold. Then once started runs fine, although it may be running rich (or maybe its just blowing all of the gas out of the engine...). Also, once the engine is warmed up, it starts just fine.
Any ideas?
