I've experienced a few issues.
1) Sometimes, the NAV no longer works. It 'freezes' the location and does not track my progress.
I know this is how the device works when engaged either by pressing the mute button and/or the door lock button. This occurs when the vehicle is started.
This...
I also tried it and no go.
I then noticed in the manual it states;
"DVD with MP3 are not playable on this system"
pg 72, Navigation Manual (2007)
I have a 2008 Yukon XL Denali.
My free trial ended in September. I expected phone calls from XM right away but instead received a bunch of snail mails.
When they did start calling I held off talking with them for awhile. I didn't want to mess with it at the time. While I LIKE XM I don't LOVE it. I bet they were hating...
I have this message only when the rear view camera is displayed. DVD player is normal (nav dvd), however, I don't have video input via the lockpick.
This is how the system works. It 'fools' the nav system into thinking you're standing still and therefore unlocks the nav address entry screen...
I have the 2008 Navigation System manual (not the big main one) in front of me.
Page 1-6;
Every fifty times the vehicle is started and the navigation system is turned on, the Caution screen appears. After reading the caution, select OK to load.....
Manual is p/n: 25794809 B Second Printing...
I have 2008 Yukon XL Denali.
I thought I read somewhere that the Caution screen appears every 50 startups, so for me it comes up about once a month.
I do not have to press OK every time I start the car. I do get the GMC/Bose splash screen.
I'll check to see if there is a setting or...
The new ipods do not play video out the 3.5mm jack. I'm not sure what is needed to do so.
On a side note, you can not rent a movie from ITUNES with the older IPOD's (5G) because you can output the content and copy it. Therefore, to ensure content security the newer IPODs don't allow video out...
I have power running boards myself and think this is a cool idea. With your description of operation I don't this will 'rice' it out.
This website was posted for underhood lighting but you may want to check it out for your project.

I just starting researching what to do with the front and I saw these and would have to see a pic on the vehicle...not sure if I like them.
The ebay listing looks a bit 'photoshopped' to me so I wonder if they've sold any.
I had the urge to share and realize I'm whining but man do I dislike working with service departments.
Ever since I bought my Yukon XL Denali, the driver door lock doesn't operate. I figured I would wait a few months to see if I discovered anything else wrong.
Well, I finally decided to...
I'm not sure if this is what you're referring to, but everytime the door opens the NAV CD (the one behind the screen) spins up.
I believe it is trying to get a head start on the load process so by the time you get in, insert the key, and get rolling the Nav is ready for you.
To test if this is...
I thought I would share my install of a V1.
I took the Invisicord idea and made my own pigtail. That way it was the correct length. It pulls power from the mirror connector.
I also found on the web a hard mount that attaches to the rear view mirror stem.
I thought your background was bada$$. I like the photo.
Better than mine which was done...you guessed it....at a park. :shhh:
I took this picture after I detailed it. Unfortunately, these vehicles have been sitting on the lots for quite some time and I didn't really notice all the swirl...
