Sorry I haven't gotten back to this in a while. The dealer gave me the shaft pretty much. Kept calling and them not knowing what I was talking about, then telling me it's still on order and never calling me. I now despise all dealers :)

Don't forget what I said about the adapter I had to buy to get certain things working correctly (without heavy modification at least). For some it ends up cheaper buying it from Crutchfield because you get discounts on some of the stuff if you buy it together (such as the $100 adapter being $50...
I have no idea about an 01, mine is an 03 and it fits perfectly. I think I heard that the 00-03 may have some plastic behind the radio that doesn't allow a deep head unit to fit in all the way, but it can be cut out.
Did you check and see what Crutchfield's web site says with compatibility...
Well since the dealer said they would look at my rear air issue and fix it free if it wasn't an A/C problem, I let them do it finally.

I ordered mine from Crutchfield and got a package deal on the Metra GM harness, it was only $50. The XM unit was $99 with a $50 mail in rebate. I dont care about the steering wheel controls so much.

actually, i just replaced the factory radio and got an aftermarket xm tuner to hook up to the new stereo. i want to remove the onstar but keep the xm, but if there are holes under them, i will leave them. if there are no holes, i'll remove them both and install the smaller more hidden xm antenna :)
