Not to stir the pot here, but I was behind another Tahoe the other day that had blacked out tail lights and they were definitely much dimmer than stock. If they are dangerously hard to see is subjective, but I personally think blacking out such an important indicator to other drivers in the name...
I went with the LT3 myself in 2wd because I too don't plan on doing any serious off road. I had the chance to buy the LTZ for a fairly minimal extra charge but I actually didn't want the extra features because I figure the more extra gizmos the more chance they will break, like the autoride...
Congrats on the new Tahoe! My 08 Tahoe is my first Chevy after owner four Hondas in a row and I am completely enamored by it. I hope you enjoy the switch to Chevy and let us know what you think about the Hybrid after owning it for awhile, I'm curious to hear from the owners on how well it works...
I would switch to a Silverado or Sierra way before buying a V6 crossover; but that should be a moot point since I'm keeping my Hoe forever:cool2:
I think the perception of bad gas mileage is hurting sales of GMT900's more than rational gas mileage choices. These trucks give great gas mileage...
Sometimes the automatic headlights in the Tahoe can be really annoying, like when I'm in downtown driving in the shade of the tall buildings or sometimes the angle of the sun causes the wiper blade to cast a shadow on the light sensor on the dash and my headlights come on. The headlights coming...
That is the perfect looking Tahoe, congrats!
I have been wanting to make my white Hoe all white and black just like that, perfect. Best looking Hoe I've seen, seriously.
Mind if I copy-cat, lol.
I have been interested in brush guards also, but they don't seem to be too popular on this forum. Either way, this site has a few pics of Tahoes with different guards on, I think the chrome ones look great, especially on a clean, white 'Hoe...
Lighter fluid removes sticky stuffy perfectly, I keep a few bottles of it around the house for removing stickers on all kinds of stuff. I usually by the Ronson stuff in the yellow bottle. I works well on the sticky left after debadging, followed by a clay bar of course.
If you have never used...
Clay bar.
I find it to be one of, if not the most useful exterior car care product. I don't think its difficult to use, just don't use it in full sun, and makes the paint feel soo smooth afterwards.
So I guess this means they are not planning that alleged switch to unibody Tahoes. I think the current body style would be fine through 2012 with freshening up.
I believe some of the first 2007 LTZ's did not come with chrome, I test drove one that was definitely an LTZ that had all the options except the chrome.
The MPG readout in the dash is a running total that keeps tabs until reset. You can reset it just like the trip odometer by pressing the check button. So if you drive really crappy and get low mpg's then start driving slow and easy without resetting the unit it will continue to calculate a...
