    Fixing steering problem

I talked a little while ago about my tahoe having loose steering. This evening I was checking it out, and found out that when it's sitting still with the wheels pointing straight, that it will bind and will not turn to the left at all unless I'm moving. I was sitting in a parking lot and was...

    Loose steering on 96 Tahoe?

I don't drive mine very often so I haven't even touched it since I posted this up. I have a friend that said his wandered and he had the idler arm and pitman arm replaced. Is this a hard job? And how expensive is something like this? I just got it out of the shop two weeks ago. Fuel pump...

    Loose steering on 96 Tahoe?

I wanted to post up an issue I'm having and see if it has been a common occurance for anyone else. I've got a 96 2 dr. Tahoe Sport. It has an all stock suspension and a set of 30" BF Goodrich tires. It seems to have a good deal of play in the steering when driving. I tend to have to move the...

    99 Tahoe died while driving

Yea but it's pretty simple to run em down yourself. The wiring under the relay is where I would check first. It was causing multiple misfires due to the pump cutting out. We found out the pump only ran about half the time. You can pop the fuse cover off, and then pop the fuse panel itself out...

    99 Tahoe died while driving

I just got my Tahoe out of the shop for the same issue. It was missing some while driving and eventually got to where it would go to idle rpms while driving and would not accelerate. On the way to the shop it just died and would not restart. After some checking, he found the wiring under...

    Cold Air intake- tube?

It is true to an extent. The plastic tubes don't heat up as much as metal tubes. BUT......K&N is a plastic tube as well. Most intakes I see that are metal are the cheap ones you buy from Ebay or something along those lines. And you do lose some cool air effects due to the metal heating up.

    Need exhaust ideas....

Only reason I havent went down to the muffler shop is work. I wanted to have an idea of what I would be looking at spending from other's experiences as far as mufflers and such. As well as finding out how to delete the rear o2s.

    Need exhaust ideas....

That would be fine, but it has to stay under $500. I don't have that kind of cash to throw around. I'm looking for a decent sounding exhaust (mainly no rust and no holes) for as cheap as I can get and still get good quality. I'm thinking about stock manifolds, no cats, and flowmaster 40...

    Need exhaust ideas....

I appreciate the input. That exhaust however is for a 4 door single exit. And I'm not sure if I want to let Pacesetter touch my Hoe. I've heard really bad things about Pacesetter. I'm looking to find a dual exit exhaust preferably. Keep in mind I can keep my stock manifolds if need be...

    Need exhaust ideas....

What kind of money are we talking that route? Remember it needs to be economical for me right now. Later on I might change it but the less I have to spend right now the better. I have a few other things in mind first.

    Need exhaust ideas....

I've got a 96 2dr. Tahoe Sport. Currently it has duals on it, but they are rusted and nasty looking. One of the "mufflers" has a hole in it the size of a pencil. The mufflers appear to be the glasspack design which are straight through. My problem is, I need to replace everything, from the...

    Weird problem....

I'm buying the cap tomorrow. It's almost to the point of being funny, really. My tech at the shop told me to try something, and I am "almost" sure that's what it is. He asked if it missed yesterday and I told him it didn't. The weather was crisp and cold and almost no humidity. He told...

    Weird problem....

Ok, this is kind of a long story, but here goes... My 96 Tahoe threw a SES light last week. It started randomly missing. Not a bad miss, just sputters for half a second and is fine for a few miles. I got the code read at Advance, and he said it's a code for catalyst efficiency below...

    Tahoe new guy....

Hopefully it will be easy. I work at an International diesel shop and our lead tech is a friend of mine. He is going to hook up his Modis Monday and check everything. The truck runs beautifully, so hopefully there is no problem with the oil pressure. Once the truck is warmed up for...

    Tahoe new guy....

i just bought my first Tahoe day before yesterday. I bought a 96 2 dr. Sport 4wd. Odometer shows 157k but new engine only has 20k. I've wanted one for quite some time. I traded in my 97 Ext. cab Ram for it. It has brand new BF Goodrich A/T's on it and runs great. I had a few questions...
