    Replacing transfer case motor

Sounds like the np8 option. If you're buying a used one, any salvage yard will know what that is. 4l60 transmission with np8 transfer case. Pretty common setup. They can check the vin also.

    torsion bar removal

This was probably covered in past discussions, but I couldnt find what I was looking for. My question is basically this: if i back off the tensioning bolts on the torsion bars with the front suspension hanging, then break the lower ball joint loose, will the lower control arm lower enough to...

    Better MPG for Tahoe 99

better mpg I wouldnt change the tire size; going smaller is not a good idea and larger will kill your mileage. The air deflector, as i understand, is supposed to keep the dirt and mud from sticking to the rear window. If you still have dirt collecting there, removing it couldnt hurt. I dont...

    Radiator Help?

I've seen an electric dual fan setup somewhere for warmer areas that is supposed to work very well; replacing the clutch fan and taking the load off the engine. I dont remember who made it, I'm sure its not too hard to find again. It doesnt get that hot up here, so I really didnt look at it...

    Better Handling?

You can try upgraded bushings in sway bar and end links, replace shocks and everything else, but at the end of the day, its still a 5000 pound vehicle with a relatively high center of gravity; they're going to sway some. I switch from an HHR to my Tahoe a lot. I notice the difference in...

    Heated seats

My heated seats started acting up last winter. I meant to have them checked out before it got cold again, so here we are, cold weather upon us and I havent had the time to fix them. The passenger side went out first, with a buzzing clicking noise, then the drivers went out silently within the...

    replace steering wheel motion sensor

Chevalanche, I'm told that the sensor does not need to be clocked. I'd just make sure it goes in the same way it came out. I'm also told some electronic cleaner/lube keeps it working good.

    Pitman and Idler arms

Mine was the same way. I spent a few hours trying to find someone to press it on the rest of the way. Theres about 1/4 inch between the arm and the seal. I dont like it, but I'm told that as long as the nut is tight, its ok.

    Lower intermediate steering shaft stuck...

I recently rebuilt my rag joint too. Your experience sounds a bit like mine. My shaft wasnt rusty, the joint was just a pain to get all the bolts/rivets arranged the right way. I hope that your rusty shaft coupler isnt so bad that it would fail when you really need it.

    somebody help

You need to look at your control arms to see what type you have. The different models LT, 1500, 2500 will vary. Some will have rivets that you can drill out and bolt in new ones; others will need to be pressed out/in.

    97 ho lazy steering.

A worn steering gear will cause lots of free play and sloppy steering. I just replaced mine and the pump and deleted the EVO valve on the pump using a pressure line from a 96 pre-EVO tahoe. What you get is full power to your steering ALL the time. reminds me of driving my grandfathers old...
