    The problem with taking it in is that it will probably work fine since it starts fine the majority of the time. You'd have to get them to keep testing it over and over again for 30 minutes.

    When does it overheat? While sitting still or driving? Does it cool down when you start moving? How hot does it get? I'd be a little worried about having to add coolant. It has to be getting out somewhere. I'd take it to a shop and let them test for a blown headgasket.

    How fast were you going? I'd be pissed if I went on a hwy trip and only got 14 mpg. I've taken my in-laws tahoe on a few trips and usually average about 16.7 mpg (according to the info center on the gauge cluster) with the speed set around 80 mph.

    Thanks for the info guys. Front end: I know that they had the front end worked on about a year ago. There was some rattling or something that could be heard in when hitting bumps. According to my father-in-law, they replaced something with a part used on older model tahoes...don't know...

    New to the Tahoe scene

    I'm possibly going to be coming into a 2003 Tahoe LS. Currently we drive a 2003 Mazda MPV but we are thinking about selling the van and taking my mom-in-laws tahoe for free. It currently has 115k on it. The interior has everything you can get and it is perfect for the kidos.....dvd stuff :)...
