That is called the "Free travel mode". I believe that DJM suspension first came out with it. Do a search for free travel mode on here and I guarantee that you will find it.
If not, look for Boost on here. He can certainly help you with it!

Sooooo I seen two messages and thought that I would answer then.
Yes, with the actuator off, the door can be moved manually.
I never got any codes for anything. But! When I installed my new PCM programmed by Justin with blackbeard, I had the negative side of the battery...
interesting
Description: Air Door Actuator

As you can see from this link above, the actuator is the SAME for both the Air door AND the temp door.
Without pulling your bearings out, you really wont know. As the shop owner said, it is common for these trucks and really any vehicle that is AWD. Putting strain on those bearings while turning is what does it.
I will get some pics up later tonight.
I finally broke down and decided to have my front differential looked at on my 2003 Yukon Denali AWD. I dropped it off Wednesday evening after work and just as the owner said, the carrier bearings where getting worn.
They sell a kit that includes all new carrier bearings apparently for these...
better explanation
There is no heater hose issues at all. The hoses and the AC works fine. For some reason the CONTROL that turns the temperature up and down is not working for some reason. So if I turn the temp from 65 to 80 the actuatore in the back does not move to change it from cold air...
Update On Rear Hvac System
So today I pull off the passenger side rear inside panel to get to the actuator. I replace it and guess what, NOTHING! Since I had an extra one, I replaced it again and NOTHING!
I took the original one apart to look at the inside and everything moves just fine...
I ordered both actuators from ebay.
Description: Air Door Actuator

OE #: 16124922, 89018356
I am not sure which one it is so I ordered both. They are located in the rear of the vehicle above the passenger side rear tire.

So are you saying that I SHOULD be able to pull the 3rd brake light off the escalade and put on my Yukon?
I already have the pillar pieces and the roof rack on there. The best thing is that both vehicles are the same color!
Let me kno!! :ktoe:
appreciation
Boost,
I appreciate the offer. I ordered my spindles and rear kit from Jeggs on Tuesday. Got both for less than 500 so I am pleased with that. I did see how big the bumb stops are on these things! I can see tha those will have to get trimed down of not replaced all...
Conclusion on this issue
Was there ever a conclusion on this question?
I have the availability of an Escalade 3rd brake light and would love to swap it out. However, I will not swap the entire glass as I have just replaced my rear glass after a hinge failure that I am sure a lot of us have...
So tonight is the first night here in Jacksonville that heat in the car is really needed.
So I turned on the rear blower and turned it to heat and guess what!!! NO HEAT!
I get a nice cold air though!!!!
Anyone have any idea why this is not working??? Anything that I can look for? Any...

MAF cleaning
NEVER use contact cleaner to accomplish this. It only takes a small amount of residue that contact cleaner can leave behind to again make you clean it.
Do some searches on the forum here and you will find a lot of talk of others doing it with contact cleaner and finally...
Carfax
NEVER trust carfax at all.
I personally bought a Honda Accord from a personal friend after having it repaired at the body shop the second time his daughter wrecked it. Each time she rear ended someone and the entire front of the car had to be replaced. That would be fenders, hood...

I hope that Butch doesn't get mad for me sharing!
I'll pass along a great trick I learned from my drag racing days to change all the tranny fluid in the transmissiom, converter and cooler. I used...
