LCDs with adjustable headrest poles - anyone use em?

Anyone used these new LCDs in the headrests with their Tahoe? This says the poles are adjustable width, but I'm wondering how well they fit in a Tahoe (the poles are a little thicker in my hoe than in my buddy's Camry, for example)...

    On my way to 25MPG!!!!

The statistics are still out for Royal Purple and other Group II and III synthetics. In fact: "In July 1996, Consumer Reports published the results of a two year motor oil test involving a fleet of 75 New York taxi cabs and found no noticeable advantage of synthetic oil over regular oil."...

You got me convinced. I ordered the shocks. Now I need a lesson in replacing power steering and transmission fluids, and fixing a pinhole leak in a radiator.

Man, ya'll are making this a difficult decision  I do have all the necessary tools, I'm just leery about working on my daily driver. I have no problem working on a project car or my motorcycle... because I know I won't need it *tomorrow*... you know? My emotional side (very small but...

Bilstiens the recommended replacement? I'm ok with investing a little more for some better performance, weight reduction, or a longer life. What's SSBC?

Yeah, it was on the lift while the dude was pointing out everything. The only thing he said really need to be changed pretty soon is: - front shock is definitely leaking (would need to change both fronts at same time) - power steering fluid is nasty black - rotors are warped slightly, i...

Has Anyone Seen One Of These?

I wear my seat belt out of habit and the same reason I wear all my gear every time I get on my bike: that statistical chance that something happens. I don't really like the completely blacked-out look. Reminds me of Secret Service or whatever. Gimme some more chrome trim somewhere on that.

Oh, and how hard is it to replace shocks? Any recommended do-it-yourself brands?

OK all, this is a sort-of followup to the "thinking of downgrading" thread. I got my alignment done today ($120!%!@#) and they had it up on the lift showing me everything that it needs (2001 Tahoe, 120k): - front shock leaking fluid, all four shocks $600 - new rotors, pads $800 - radiator...

    Getting my 24's

Weird, my tire prices went up by $30. Would think with the petroleum prices going up, all tire prices would be on the rise.

Thinking of "downgrading" to an Envoy/TB

Haha, it'd be great if that's all I needed to do. From my previous experience owning GMs (77 Corvette, 88 Blazer S10, 91 Grand Am, 93 88LSS, 98 Silverado) I figure in the next year or so, my maintenance list will be: - Rear brakes, rotors, possibly a caliper or two - water pump - power...

Man, I got a lot of research to do if I'm going car shopping this weekend

Thinking of "downgrading" to an Envoy/TB

Unless I get that sick 6.0 TB, haha. Yes, downsizing is a better term for it. I just wonder on reliability - isn't the Envoy/TB a relatively new platform for GM?

Thinking of "downgrading" to an Envoy/TB

    What?! 6-liter, aluminum-alloy, Corvette LS2 V-8 rated 395 horsepower at 6,000 rpm, 400 pounds-feet of torque at 4,000 rpm Loooool

Thinking of "downgrading" to an Envoy/TB

North Atlanta - I live 10 minutes from the Mall of Georgia (Bill Heard of Buford is closest to me). The two things I really want are: - 3rd row seating - as much integrated as possible (DVD, BT, etc) I don't mind doing the #2 stuff on my own, I'm handy with mods. But I certainly would rather...

Thinking of "downgrading" to an Envoy/TB

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have an '07 Hoe. I just can't justify a $40,000 vehicle right now. It's more like downgrading from a 15-year-old 4,000 sq ft house to a brand-new 2,500 sq ft one. Think taxes, electric bill, and rooms you never use. A Kia Rondo would be a condo.

Thinking of "downgrading" to an Envoy/TB

Yeah, 20K range is good for me. I wish I could, but I can't keep the Tahoe too, I already have a motorcycle  It's like I'm rationalizing keeping the big pimpin truck when really, it's needed for maybe 20% of my use. I really SHOULD get a cheap, "sensible" car for my commute... but that...

Thinking of "downgrading" to an Envoy/TB

So I kind of have the new car bug. I'm thinking about selling my Tahoe and getting an Envoy or Trailblazer instead. - lower gas consumption - nicer bits (seat heaters, Bluetooth, third row seats, etc) - no/less maintenance (Hoe has 120k on it, gonna need a lot of stuff soon) I'm willing...
