Per GM 87 octane fuel is recommended. I've been using that for almost 2 years and now I'm getting knocking. Anybody have any ideas why it's knocking now? Doesn't matter which brand of fuel, but I use Mobil almost allways.

I got an offer for an extended warranty for my Tahoe. There is a very good chance that GM may go bankrupt and make all warranties worthless. Who in their right mind would buy an extended warranty until GM is in the clear financially.

That decided that the cover to the air filter should be screwed on? And to really make it a bonehead idea the screws are star screws. Every car I have ever had used wingnuts or some type of clip to access the air filter. You didn't need tools. Especially some esoteric screwdriver.

Are generic air filters OK, or are the pricey ones really worth the money?

My tahoe came with the the side rails(not sure what they're called) but I need center rails/cross rails. Chevy sells them for about $170 after market. Is there a reason not to get the Chevy ones?
