I didn't notice any major decline in fuel economy, but again I have't really been checking.
How much is it typcially for the parts and labor to replace a EVAP cannister or fuel pump?

I have a 2004 Tahoe, 4.8L with approximately 66,000 miles currently.
About 2 months and 2000 miles ago the check engine light came on.
Went to my local AutoZone shop and rented a OBD-II sensor. The
code that came up was P0442- a quick reference to my Hanes manual
read "EVAP System...
I just talked to a service rep. at my local dealer and they told me that they have a special method of eliminating foul odor. Basically, they hook up a machine through the core and run a foam type cleaner through the system for a couple of hours (I was quoted about $100 for the service)...
