This feature can be turned on or off through the
Driver Information Center (DIC).

I have a 2004 and I don't think there is a way to do that. But do like I did, visit O'Reilly's or one of the other major auto parts stores and they scan for nothing. They even reset mine so I could say if the codes returned.

There are atleast two TSB's related to air bag lights being on.
You might check the harness underneath the seat to make sure it is still securely connected.
I had the guage cluster replaced so it is now new. Probably could have found an easier fix but that was the fastest way to fix it.

Possibly water pump. There is an upgraded water pump now. I just bought a 2004 Tahoe and they said the water pump wasn't causing any problems but it needed replacing. I've also noticed on several forum posts that is one of the most common replacement items after a certain age.
