Interesting, how does one go about refilling the gauge? Have to tear the dash apart to do it, or is it somewhere else?

Hi There, I've got a 1999 Chevy Tahoe that has a fluttering gas gauge. It starts off going back and forth, and doesn't register the proper fuel level at all. Right now I've been going strictly by mileage and refilling the tank as it gets low. What should I check on it? Thanks!
