Loose steering wheel play -- is this normal?? (see video)

Was this problem ever fixed? I would like to see what is happening at the output shaft/pitman arm area in a video. That definitely looks like steering gear lash slop and is adjustable. Very small increment adjustments at a time. 1/8 of a turn and roadtest and then recheck. Adjust 1/8 of a turn...

    2007 Tahoe LTZ misfiring again.

Just to be clear, there is no external fuel filter. It is part of the pump. I would attach a fuel pressure gauge to the rail and have a long enough hose that the gauge can be ran out the back of the hood and tape to w/s and do a cold start and drive and see what happens. I had a similar problem...

Was the mechanic recommended to you or you already knew about him? Is he ASE Certified? Reputable shop with good reviews? One man show? Is he going to do the actuators and then get in there to double check everything? I have been on the Tahoe/Yukon Forum since Oct. 2014. Love it there but...

If you have a G87 RPO code, you have a 8.5 ring gear. If not, it is likely the 9.5 ring gear which is very rare for that rig. It also would have that "OVAL" shaped cover, like in the pic of the link. The other is the round cover for the 8.5 ring gear

Get rid of the chrome cover because oil will leak past the chrome because the gasket cannot seal correctly. Use the standard attaching bolts and flat or star washers. Better yet, use this cover and gasket and bolts from GM if it is a 9.5 inch ring gear...

I used to own a 2 door 96 Tahoe that was white with black trim and I kick myself for selling it. I am in Eugene but my plans are to move back to Mo. next year after being here 27 years. This place is over run with idiots and homeless. I have an itchy trigger finger. Both going bad at same time...

First, where in Southwest Oregon are you? I am in Oregon too. Second, please tell me before we get any further in the weeds that you did not use a cheap aftermarket brand of actuator. Like a Dorman product. Very bad electrical components. Use only Genuine GM parts or Delphi if is an option...

Build sheet Please for 01 tahoe

Yea, I went back to where I copied the link and deleted the VIN at the end before I copied it and then did a trial run and it worked fine. I am so busy on the Tahoe/Yukon forum that it takes me some time to get back here but I will check daily, I hope.

Build sheet Please for 01 tahoe

You can go here and punch in your VIN and get a build sheet: https://chevroletforum.com/forum/vindecoder.php?vin= Pay no attention to the attached VIN number. It is from a rig I checked for a friend and for some reason will not delete from when I posted the link. I will try again.

    1996 Tahoe, hard shifts

Great. Pay close attention to was the bottom of the pan looks like when you drop it and drain the fluid out of it. You don't want to see fibrous chunks of material or metal chunks. A little bit of fine shavings is ok because that is the sharp edges of gears and baskets in there, rounding off and...

VIN number stamped in frame Tahoe 2004

I have never had to look for a frame VIN number before. I have seen them on the right side but no particular location depending on the vehicle. It can be behind the RF tire along the frame or anywhere on that side of the frame. Sorry, but I am used to the one at the DS w/s area and the D/S door...

    2005 Z71 Complete upgrades

The bars are stock Z71 bars. My upgrades are complete when I do them and only use Genuine GM Parts. The biggest performance upgrade was the Hellwig sway bar kits, front and rear. I also had Digital Dash Solutions do a custom dash cluster and now I have the transmission temp gauge that works...
