Yes there is a spot for a 2nd battery, it was an option that very few ever purchased. Would be a very nice upgrade if you put a winch on the front of the tahoe. As mentioned above, a properly sized single battery will do the job for a stock equipped tahoe.

We are on our 6 tahoe since '96. the '97 and '99 had the 5.7L motors, we could get 18MPG. Ever since the 5.3L motor, 12-15 MPG...... Current tahoe is a '09 LTZ 5.3L w/3.73 ratio. Last tahoe was a '07 w/5.3L 4.10 ratio and both got very close the exact MPG. Got to pay to drive a nice car....

We have 36k miles on our '07, the best we have ever got was 15 mpg, and the last two months around 12 MPG, thats HWY driving. This is our 5th tahoe, 1st a '97 w/5.7 3.73 4X4 and got 18, each one since has gotten worse. What gives. Smaller motor, less power and less MPG:mad3::mad2::mad::cuss...
