    1999 Tahoe Lift Questions

The lift puts the pinion angle incorrectly. It puts the rear U-joints in a bind. The only real solution Superlift has come up with is to change to a 2 piece rear drive shaft with a carrier. No problem with the rear drums at 95xxx miles.

    1999 Tahoe Lift Questions

I put them in myself, so all I'm out is my time plus parts. I'll break two rears a year, so $75 or so.

    Quick battery Question

Check your passenger side vanity mirror. That was giving me problems and I fixed it. Worked great for a few years. But the problem has returned. Charging/battery check out OK.

Does anyone have the recall info handy? My hoe has no problems, but my '89 K2500 has the same issues.

    1999 Tahoe Lift Questions

I didn't regear after a Superlift kit. Speedo may be off a bit, but I'm not worried if that is all the problems there are. I have bee going thru u-joints on an annual basis.

    brakes grabbing

Its fairly common for the hoe's brakes to pulsate (feels like they're trying to lock up) on a cold start, first pedal push. Not too sure why, but it's been discussed here before. Mine has done it since I bought it. That's the only time it happens.

    Wacky Wipers

IIRC, there was a recall or TSB on some of these. Thankfully I haven't had problems on the hoe, but the 89 3/4 PU gives me grief every time I use them.

    Transfer Case

I've run my hoe from Hatteras to Duck 4 to 5 times a year since 1998, and no problems with the X-case or DL. It's not the same as my old 79 Jeep quadra-trac that the hoe replaced. That thing would go anywhere, in anything. I believe there are two big differences that show up in sand...

    left rear window (driver side)

Try this: Takes 2 people. From the drivers switch, hold the window button down and have someone slam the door. If it rolls down, could be the motor or a bad connection. If it doesn't work, repeat the process using the rear passenger seat. Sometimes as they get old, the window motors will...

    Using SEAFOAM

Remember, the trick is keeping the Seafoam in the intake and heads. If you crank it too much, you'll end up pushing it out the exhaust. How did you go about getting it in the engine? Let it sit 30 minutes once it's in there. It takes time for it to work....
