03 Tahoe A/C problems

A/C just quit working on the way home. Blower works and all the setting change from vents to dash and floor but no cold air. All fuses are good but the compressor wont ingage.

Any thoughts before I take it in to the shop?

Probably is low on refrigerant pal. That would be my first guess. That would cause the compressor not to engage.

This was my first thought. Go ahead and re-charge it and see if that works. If it does, problem solved. If it works, but does it again later, sounds like a leak. At that point, you might try one of those leak finder kits and go from there.

Drove her to work yesterday and the a/c would come on for a while and then shut off, did this the whole trip. Going to take it in Friday and have it charged. Hope thats all it is.
