I am about to purchase a 2002 Chevy Surburan that I plan to refirbish.
It has 250,000 miles and is in good shape except for the engine which is a little tired and needs work. I would like to put a newer engine and transmission. I am thinking about a new crate engine and a 5 or 6 speed transmission. I might consider a newer engine,2011-2012 from a salvage yard.
Can anyone tell me what engine/ transmission combo I should consider and where to start looking. As far as crate engines will the newer engines fit the 2002 Surburan? Thanks
