I have a 1995 4x4 and it is stock height. It's got it's stock 16" wheels and 245x75 tires. I'd like to know if 285x75s will fit without rubbing.

Yes, they will rub some, even with the torsion bars turned up. I have a couple pics of that setup at the link below. I have no rubbing now with the Helo wheels.

You can fit 285's on stock rims. However, it would be better to get some aftermarket 16x8 rims at a minimum. In my experience when I put 285's on my Tahoe with the new rims, the only time I rubbed a bit on the air dam was when I fully turned in either direction. Also, on major suspension articulation it would rub on the air dam just a bit.

No trimming was involved. Of course I don't worry about it now with my 6" suspension lift.

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm not sure what I want to do, 265s or 285s. I have a while to think about it as these little 245s are still 50 to 60% good yet. When the time comes I might just play it safe and go with the 265s. I know I know, boo, hiss, lol.

The 285s look nice and I'm thinking on them again, when the time comes. Your 2 door looks great with them 992door. My dad had a 1995 2 door Tahoe before his 95 4 door. I remember the 2 door sitting up higher than mine and his 4 door, so I know 285s would work back there. I'm not worried about the air dam rum, that can be trimmed. I worried about 285s rubbing on the frame rails lock to lock. But I guess they don't because everyone has said it's just the air dam. Anyway, now I'm leaning towards the 285s.

My dad bought his 265s for his last summer and he did consider the 285s. He probably would have gotten the 285s if he would have known they'd work in the front.

the only thing they rub on is the lower control arm at full lock

I wonder if you can bump it in a little with a hammer. Maybe you thought of that already, ya know dent it in. Ya wouldn't hurt anything like the alignment.
