94 brake light switch

trying to remove the brake light switch on my 94 Blazer. I can see the clip with a mirror but how do I remove that darn clip???

so I found 2 youtube videos and once I could see what the clip looked like I was able to wiggle it off with a pick tool. What a pain in the neck to get off! I see that the shaft that it clips onto seems a bit oval in shape?, and the slot in it is only half way around the shaft. And it is just as hard to put back on as it was to get off, but at least I did not have to trash it to get off. So if anyone se out there has this issue, buy the Dorman replacement clips so you can see how this funky locking clip retainer is designed and you will see how to get it off. Very limed clearance room to get more than 2 fingers up there.
