do i need to flush the lines of the refrigerant at a ac specialist. was told that my year rigs refrigerant is the previous, non harmful substance compared to the later. Said i could drain the lines at my house. this true?

When in doubt, ALWAYS use a professional where A/C is concerned. Take it in and have it cleaned out, then install a pulley like stated above and go from there removing the compressor and lines, etc. Shouldn't be too bad at all...
