These are only common lift/tire combinations that seem to work well together. Some setups may rub in off-highway situations, but most allow for clearance. Any wheel that is 'not recommended' for that particular height can be run, but is not advisable.

OBS Trucks (88-98), OBS SUVs (92-99):

Stock height
- 285/75R16 & 32/11.5R15 on Stock wheels or 16x8/15x8 (possible torsion bar crank); 16x10/15x10 not recommended
- 305/70R16 & 33/12.5R15 on Stock wheels or 16x8/15x8 (torsion bar crank and light trimming); 16x10/15x10 (torsion bar crank and heavy trimming, or cutout flares)

3" Suspenion Lift or Body Lift
- 305/70R16 & 33/12.5R15 on Stock Wheels or 16x8/15x8; 16x10/15x10 (possible torsion bar crank and light trimming)
- 315/75R16 & 35/12.5R15 on Stock Wheels or 16x8/15x8 (torsion bar crank and heavy trimming, or cutout flares); 16x10/15x10 not recommended

4" Suspension Lift
- 305/70R16 & 33/12.5R15 on Stock Wheels or 16x8/15x8; 16x10/15x10 (possible torsion bar crank and light trimming)
- 315/75R16 & 35/12.5R15 on Stock Wheels or 16x8/15x8 (torsion bar crank and heavy trimming); 16x10/15x10 (cutout flares)

6" Total Lift (3" Suspension Lift + 3" Body Lift or 6" Suspension Lift)
- 315/75R16 & 35/12.5R15 on Stock Wheels or 16x8/15x8; 16x10/15x10 (possible torsion bar crank and light trimming)
- 36/12.5R16 & 36/12.5R15 on Stock Wheels or 16x8/15x8 (torsion bar crank and heavy trimming); 16x10/15x10 not recommended

7" Total Lift (4" Suspension Lift + 3" Body Lift)
- 315/75R16 & 35/12.5R15 on Stock Wheels, 16x8/15x8, or 16x10/15x10
- 36/12.5R16 & 36/12.5R15 on Stock Wheels or 16x8/15x8 (torsion bar crank and light trimming); 16x10/15x10 (torsion bar crank and heavy trimming, or cutout flares)

Good info.. Got a ? I have a 1996 2 door ho with no mods with 285/75/16's on factory's. I want to run 33x12.50's either on 17 x 9's or 18 x 9's... If I just buy new keys and turn them up and put blocks on the rear will this work or should I go with a 3 inch lift? My brother in law has a 95 4 dr and he installed new keys and blocks and is running 34x10.50x15's on 15x8's with no rubbing at all... Please Help

I have stock wheels on my 95 2 door tahoe and i was wondering could i put 33/12.5R15 size wheels on my tahoe even though the wheel size is 16 i think. And with the torsion bars cranked how much will it cost to get the truck trimmed enough to fit the tires.

Thanks.

You cant run a tire meant for a 15" rim on a 16" rim. You would need a 305/70/16. I would just do the trimming yourself and crank the torsion bars yourself. You would probably rub on the lower control arm at full lock. After you crank the bars you would need to go get a alignment.

They are the same height but the 285 is like 11.25" and the 305 is 12"

HI guys. So I just bought a '95 4-Door LS, and I dont do serious off-roading very often, but I dotake it backwoods camping with my friends a lot. The tires are going to need replacing soon, and right now they are Westlake Telluride LT245/75R16 on 16" wheels, and the lift is stock. when I do replace them, I'm looking to up them about and inch or two, maybe. I'm completely new to tire sizes and basically everything about my tahoe; I'm 17 :p haha. Anyway, so any advice you guys could suggest to me for sizes and the best brands for when I do go get these tires replaced would be really appreciated. Thanks guys.

Also, on a quick side note, I'm also going to be purchasing some side steps pretty soon.

I'm pretty sure there's a few places in the chassis that I can just bolt these puppies onto, but if they don't fit properly, should I get installation done professionally? Or can I handle it in my buddy's garage? (repair garage, not the kind in a town home XD)

I have 33x12.50R18, I have 3 inch lift blocks (slanted for better drive shaft angle) on the back to level it out. torsion bars are cranked a little (maybe have about 1/2 inch or less threads showing), but I just took off the tiny little body piece right behind the front bumper under the fender. Thats what it was rubbing on. Don't have any problems now. Seems like if you get a bigger lift than that you get a slew of problems. Pretty much bone stock besides the leveling kit.
