I have a no start situation, has been running fine since I bought it on 1/9/09. Car pull with a buddy, get to his house, try to start and nothing. Just turns, no start. Before I could hear the pump prime, this morning no pump noise just a "tszt" sound.

Only trouble shooting was switching the AC Relay with the FP Relay with no start same noise. Tried again with the FP Relay out and made same noise??

Have not checked the relay nor the Oil pressure switch.

IF I have to replace the pump do I have to lift the rear end up?? Is there enough room to lower the tank and replace pump? It is a 2wd.

Yea, you're going to have to drop the fuel tank to remove the pump. You are still going to have to raise and support the truck. I do not think you will have enough room to remove the tank from under the truck w/o doing so.

Also, I would recommend you purchase a quality fuel pump and change out the fuel filter as well.

I jacked my truck up with a floor jack and pushed my ramps under the rear wheels. Remove the driveshaft, disconnect the filler line and vent line and remove the straps. You could possibly do the pump with the tank hanging in the framerails if you sit in the middle with your head in the trans tunnel.
On my 98, the tank is plastic and it's really jammed in the framerails. It was so difficult to drop the tank the first time the pump failed six years ago, I was in no hurry to do it again.

Alrighty then... Get off work this morning, we arrive at my car pool buddies house. He suggested that we reset the ECU it worked on his Acura Integra and it was just a "why not." After ten minutes reconnect the battery. Then jiggled the FP wire harness. I remembered someone posting about banging on the tank. I have a full tank and did not think that would work, but did it anyway as close to the pump as possible.

Turned the key and no fuel pump humm. Kept the key turned and she starts right up!

I make it home, it is about 15 miles to my house from his. I start the truck three times and each time I could hear the pump. So far good to go. I am not sure if resetting the ECU did anything, may have been the wire harness.
