well changing door pin and bushings in my drivers side door started normal and ended up with me having to cut and resplice the wireing between the door and the truck, lots of beating with hammers and cussing. the bushings ende up haing to be pressed in with channel locks and a hammer while the door was on the grass sense i couldent get the door to work with me. its a really bad desigh in my opinion, while he pins are easy enough to change if you can control the door, if the holes get worn oval there is no way to get fix it cause the hinge brackets are welded on. i was a ford guy, changed cause ford let me down last coupe years but i will say this, at least they had removable hinges that could at least be replaced. the door now works fine, and having re spliced the wires all the power locks ect still work. i dont like the design but its at least done. the bad part is that the door will need to be replaced at some future date cause it has a dent in it lol.

if you remove the boot from the truck side you can pull the wiring out and there are 3 plugs you can disconnect to remove the door. Also you can replace the hinges, the welds get drilled out and the new ones get bolted in. The holes on my rig got out of round and I fashioned some new holes with my drill, some steel and a welder....

Your biggest issue is door hinges?

At least the truck will run to 300k miles if you take care of it, haha, totally worth some headache with door pins IMO....

Mine may have 300k on it, but the trans was rebuilt before I got it near 250k and I just finished replacing the engine a week ago because of a crack in the block due to someone not repairing a LIM gasket leak and filling block with water in the winter time...
