I need some help with my 2001 yukon xl. I've got a vibration somewhere in the drivetrain that just started last week. It is felt at all speeds but only when your giving it gas......no shake when coasting or shifter is put into neutral and the vehicle is rolling. Here's another stumper, the vibration isn't there when the vehicle is in 4-wheel drive, only when it's in 2 wheel drive. Tires are in great shape and have been checked for broken cords, etc. It's got the 5.3l, 4spd. auto. Thanks, Tom

I have a 2001 Tahoe and I have the same issue. It shakes on acceleration, particularly from 25 to 40 mph. I had the u-joints checked and my local mechanic said they were OK. However, I don't think he removed the drive shaft to check them, which is the proper procedure, I guess. I am just hoping that it isn't the torque converter. I don't want to go there!!:ack:

Check the transfer case for excess lash? There's a known problem with these, may be cause of problem if all other parts are checking out OK, just a thought.

I wonder if this could explain my lack of 4wd. I posted about this as well. It seems like I am not getting any power to the 4wd switch. Maybe related to transfer case lash adjustment?
