so i went to turn on my heat this morning and all of a sudden it doesnt get hot anymore. any ideas on where to start?

You can start by checking the heater valve. These tend to be the cause of a lot of heater malfunctions by not opening and not allowing the coolant to flow through the heater core.

check radiator, make sure its full, low coolant causes air pockets which can cause no heat

Remember to wait for the burp when you check the water level, which eliminates the air pocket that mygreen98 spoke of.

michigan, i work midnights so when i go home its about 47 to 50 degrees out the heater valve is the just out of the fire wall passenger side

yup, it has the heater hoses going in and out of it. it should be right under thr overflow tank middle of the right side inner fenderwell. with the heat on all four hoses of the heater valve should be equally hot.

hose was dry rotted that came out of the valve the 8th inch one will replace tommorow and let you know. probably going to replace the whole valve its only 15$$

replaced the valve and hose and wala!!!! its works like new
