Been working on building up a DIY front mount turbo for my '02 Tahoe.
Let see the other turbo HOE's out there, see what I have to compete with.

Still work in progress, but getting close.

Going from bone stock to following mods.
Has taken about 2 months so far. Will get final install done just after x-mas

2002 - 2WD with 4.8L at about 70k.

New Century Stg 4 built 4L60E w/ Circle-D Trialblazer 3,000 stall
Z06 - 243 casting heads - $400 ... nice steal
Single front mount Turbonetics 62-1 running 10-12psi with intercooler.
HPTuners Pro with Nelson Performance SD tune and LQ9 coil packs
New '05 OEM e-fans, keeping stock cam and cat-back muffler set-up.

WOW. Post up a video when you can dude, I wanna see what that thing can do!

Hey just wondering, how tall are your tires? I think I can fit those 33" on without lifting.

Thanks,

So no other turbo freaks in here ? Everything needs a turbo

This thing was incredibly easy to build up a simple single turbo for.
TONS of room to route everything and has the bullet proof Gen-III motor.
Just begging for some boost. Only expensive part was the built 4L60E

With the Z06 heads and 11-12psi should easily see 425rwhp with a stock cam

I just bought a 6.0 with a 4L80E with 68k on it for $1130. What a monster steal! I will mostly likely be running a turbo or supercharged set up. I like the gauges, you didn't want to mount them to the pillar? I love that look.

I'm sure once all is done on my ride I should be above 500hp. But I have a little bit of work ahead of me breaking down the engine and swapping the 4L80E over to a 4wd, and adapting the Yukon to fit the beast of a trans. I need to modify the crossmember sliding the trans mount holes 2.5" back, change the input shaft on the transfer case (& overhaul the TC), Longer front drive shaft in the front, Shorter in the rear, some very minor rewiring.

I will be keeping an eye on this to see how it comes out. Might persuade me to go turbo instead of supercharged.
Looking Good

Turbo pipes are up at the coaters. Z06 heads are up at the machine
shop getting fresh valve job done.

Have to make a 2,000 mile road trip to Atlanta and back for Christmas
also, so going to do final turbo install when I get back.

Most everything is done, just have to do head swap and final turbo install.

btw: did base line bone stock dyno pull .... 205rwhp at 5,100 rpm

What DONT I plan to do with a 550+hp full size SUV is the question :gy:

EVERYTHING needs a turbo, if I could figure out how to put a turbo on my lawnmower
it would be boosted too.
