I was thinking about getting an HID conversion kit for my truck but I am new to this modifying stuff and I wasn't sure of a good brand. I have been looking on eBay for a few weeks and I think I found some I like but I wanted to get someone''s opinion on them that does this stuff.

Has anyone ever heard of a company called MOZO. They are selling kits on eBay and the one I want is just $79.00 but they look really nice. You know how most people buy from the maker and then sell it themselves on eBay? These ppl are the manufacturers so I thought it would be safe to get it from them. Plus there is a two year warranty, which is comforting.

Anyway, if anyone has any feedback or knowledge on this I would love the help. Do you think this is a good buy? I care a lot about my Tahoe and I don''t want to put crap in it.

THANKS!!!

That is what I thought when I first started looking at kits online. But on eBay all the kits are priced lower. I just figured it was a deal or something.

I went to Mozo's website and they are located in China, which probably is the reason they are able to make them cheaper. But their warehouse is in the US so I don't have to deal with the Chinese or anything. I emailed the eBay Mozo ppl anyway just to ask them some questions. They are really really nice and they answered all my questions immediately.

Do you think something will be wrong with the kit because its $79 (plus $10 shipping) or what is the problem with it being so low?

That is so cheap for HIDs that if you get them and they're crap, you're not out a fortune and you just re-learned that you get what you pay for.

Yeah I guess that is a good way to look at it. This is the first HID kit I have ever thought of buying so i think i will just get these. Even if they aren't good its still good practice, right? I think I will try them out. Thanks for the tips. I really appreciate it.

I have a cheap set off ebay and they actually lasted me longer so far, then my original expensive hid kit. I had some sort of problem with the originals, and I think some water got in the ballast, but there really isnt a difference between the two.

If i would buy another set, they sell a water proof kit for $250.

Yeah I was planning on trying to do it by myself because the company i bought it from told me that i get a user guide with the conversion kit that has step by step instructions on how to do it myself. I think they said there are pictures too... which is always helpful. haha.

I installed the Mozo conversion kit two days ago and they work great. I am surprised at the quality of the product, it is really impressive.

Ok, Gambler asked me to tell you guys how they work and the build quality. Well, honestly, I am impressed with the product. The packaging is pretty professional and the product itself works great and looks like all the expensive ones I looked at online. As for the brightness, I don't know how bright the $300 lights usually are (I have nothing to compare to) but I do know that my HID's are A LOT brighter than my halogens. Even brighter than I had expected.

As for build quality, I don't know exactly what you mean by that but they are (as I said before) exactly like all the $300 kits I have seen online. All the wires are nice and thick (no cheap stuff) and there are no cheap plastic parts either. Everything is very nice and sturdy. The bulbs were securely packaged and encased. The ballasts look good and reliable. No loose, ugly, damaged, or unreliable-looking parts included.

In my opinion this kit could easily be sold for more than $80. I recommend this kit to anyone new to the car upgrading world. Also, i had a lot of questions about the conversion kit and how it works and the company had one of their managers talk me through it. They are very nice and patient! If you are looking for your first upgrade and need some practice (like me) these lights are for you.

Oh, and if you are wondering what I am talking about, this is an $80 Mozo HID headlight conversion kit I got off eBay. Any other questions about my process just ask. I might be able to get some pictures on here. I hope I covered your request Gambler...

I am guessing you mean kelvin? I bought the 9006 bulbs that emit at 6000k.

Yeah they have a blue hue to them, its just what I wanted. I am pleased with the color.

Some people contacted me about not being able to find the listing. It is kind of hard to find I guess. I only found it because I was just looking through all the listings on eBay.

Anyway, you can go to this link

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&item=170237811790

Or you can type HID Xenon Headlight Conversion Kits 9005 Bulb 6000k into your search bar (just exchange the bulb size and kelvin temp for what you are looking for). But when I talked to the manager about the sizes and stuff I needed she told me that they are only selling 9005 and 9006 sized bulbs right now though. Oh, and she also said that they only sell 6000k and 4300k temperatures. But I guess that won't be too much of a problem for anyone who owns a tahoe since those are the sizes we need.

If anybody has any other questions or is really confused just ask me.

I know they don't fit the 2007 low beams. I have an 06 tahoe. 2007 tahoes carry the 9005 high beam though. I don't know if you can put kits in high beams or not. I have read some articles where people have said they did.

The email that I talked to mozo with is [email protected]. I am sure you can write them and ask them whatever you need to. They were very nice when I asked them some questions. That email address belongs to their internet sales manager in the US.

Sorry if I caused you some confusion. I hope the email address helps.

no confusion i just wanted to know if you had a U.S. contact. i emailed [email protected] and got one reply last night. I was thinking that this was a person in china. but i will just be patient. the did say they could supply the h11 lowbeam kit for me but did not give me a price or how to order. I was just trying to rush things. Thanks for your quick response and review of your HID kit.
