Lowered Suspension

I have a 2001 Tahoe and I installed 2" lowering springs, my problem is that when I have a few people in the back seat the truck is not smooth when I hit a bump, it bottoms out.

Does any one know how to prevent this, I was thinking shorter shocks but wanted to make sure.

Replacing the shocks might help. Also the free travel mod can also solve the bottoming problem for lowered rigs--- http://tahoeforum.com/archive/index.php/t-10664.html
