Oil feedback --2013 Tahoe 5.3L

I took my '13 Tahoe in for its third oil change since I purchased it with 27k miles. It currently has 37k miles. I typically go to the local tire store but today I hit a Mobil 1 oil change center. My previous oil changes never said anything about needing a "much higher priced Dexos synthetic oil" but today the Mobil folks told me that. I told them to use regular 5W30 but now I'm concerned that might have been a mistake.

The last 2 oil changes were approx $25 ea so I assume they used 5w30 regular oil. Anyone have any feedback or suggestions.

What does your owners manual say? Can't go wrong with it.

It just say dexos1 or equivalent.

If says dexos1 or equivalent then use that or Mobil 1. can't go wrong with that.

It says they used Mobil Special 5w30 conventional

If devos1 is recommended and it is synthetic then either switch to that or Mobil 1. If calls for synthetic then use synthetic. You can just drain the oil pan and top off with synthetic and be ok with small amount in filter.
