Hi all, I have a 1999 Tahoe 2dr Autotrac with a really frustrating problem.
Every once in a while when I am driving along, a horrible grinding noise starts up, then goes away. The noise lasts between 1-15 seconds, and it happens randomly in both 2HI and 4HI. It seems to happen only when the road is bumpy, but does not happen on every bump.
I recently had the transfer case and motor replaced, and the noise went away for a little while, but started up again. I am getting a little fed up with this because I have been to 2 different mechanics and the problem isn't fixed.
Please help me figure this out!!
