Hello there,
I am new to Tahoes and I am thinking about trading my 81 gmc sierra for a 95 Tahoe that the guy on craigslist said may need a new transfer case but he drives it everyday..I am just wondering if at 223,000 miles the transmission will be going bad??? he says it runs great, but if it needs a new t case wouldn't it be running rough? or is that when you just when you put it in 4WD? I don't wanna make the drive in my gas guzzler to check it out if the trannys going out, Any suggestions or advice on checking this tahoe out would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If the T-Case is screwed up, it may still run but not in 4wd....

Dont know how you would tell if trans is going bad without a drive.......

Good luck.

Thanks, is replacing a t case a tough job in these? and you're right the guy just said its just 4WD that doesn't work and that it's a rebuilt tranny, which i guess is good cuz that's the main thing I am worried about.

Of all the 4wd vehicles I have owned, I never had the TCase or Transout....
