Service 4wd light

Ok so I have a 2 door with autotrac and the service 4wd came on. When I start it in the morning after it sits for a minute or so it sounds like something is rattling. It did not start to do this until after the light came on. I was wondering if anyone knew what would cause the light to come on because I really dont fell like having to pay the dealer 80 bucks to tell me what is wrong unless I have to or if any knows anywhere else that could tell me why it came on I would really appreciate it.

Check all the wiring harnesses going to the transfer case. I had that light to when some wires got torn. A couple bucks at AutoZone and a few splices later, service light was gone.
