Has anyone ever swapped out their side mirrors with newer generation Chevy HD tow mirrors? I came across a pair, new for a killer deal and wanted to put them on my 99 Tahoe. Was wondering if there's any mods? The guy i'm buying them from has a 95 pick-up, which also has a pair, and he said they bolt right in. I wanted to get other opinions.

Yea you can install but if you were your looking for the power mirror to work i wouldn't think so. Also replacing/installing new mirrors is a pain in the a** i needed to replace passenger one because it broke and may i say what a tight place i was in took me about an hour and a half just to replace old mirror but at the end of the day it looks great :D

You should check and see if they are for the 88-00 trucks or if those are actually for the NBS! they are different but if he has the same mirrors on his truck then I would guess he has the mirrors for The OBS truck. I bought mine from Ebay they are made for the OBS doors and have a gusset that makes the door more rigid so the heavy mirror doesn't stretch the steel. I have a few pics of mine. Power/Heat. And LED Marker/signal.

Finally Done

It was a lot easier than I thought it was going to be, minus trying to get the lower 2 nuts for the mirror mount. Other than that it bolted right up.

Were they OEM take offs or something from the aftermarket? Saw one like that the other day and it got me thinking.

Im not sure if the were OEM take offs. I doubt they were because of the box they were in when I bought them. Im guessing aftermarket. I know you can get them online now too made for our generation of Chevys. They bolt right in and have the option for power too if you have power mirrors. I still have them on, and enjoy them. I dont tow much, but it gives it a better look and greater rear viewing area.

Thanks for the reply, I've found some that are aftermarket. Not sure what type I'll get but would like something larger than the factory mirrors. Mine is a 2dr so towing with it is super easy compared to the truck I had.

I'm interested to see pictures and know what brand is best for after market tow mirrors for a 2005 Chevy Tahoe I would like to know also if all tahoes are equipped with wiring for turn signals. I want power, turn signaled, and heated my truck has factory power and heat but does not have signals. I don't want to buy ones that the turn signals wont work with.
