I've noticed lately that the truck takes a while to shift into reverse from drive and park, it makes a slight bang on the 1-2 shift, and slips a small amount on the 2-3 shift. I checked the trans fluid today and it was red so I don't think it needs changed. I'm wondering if my transmission is on its last legs because the truck has 115,000 on it. It wasn't used for towing and has full torque management.

sounds allot like mine was, ordered a Vette servo, tranny builder went to put it in, and change tranny fluid...then saw all the crud in my pan. :(

Needless to say, had to have tranny rebuilt, and only had 79,000 miles. Now shifts good and firm :D

ill put in a servo within the next couple of weeks, but i did find a source of my problem, i went under the truck to change the oil and found a chunk of mud wedged into the gap between the drivetrain and the guard in front of the transmission, yanked that out and im shifting easier now.
