Hey bai78, I used to have a 4dr 99 tahoe with 3.73, 2wd. My tires were 275/65 15. At 80mph, i used to run @ 2500RPM. Was this normal? I plan to get another tahoe sometime in the future.

I agree with 98 Yheti... When i had my 99 tahoe, I had messed up MAF sensor go bad on me. A dirty K&N filter was the cause of the failure. This caused sluggish acceleration off the line and the tranny would act as if it was slipping. Once i replaced the MAF, there was no more sluggish...

Hey Makaveli, do you remember the exact code for the PO300? Was it something like PO301, 302, 303? anything to that sort? the last digit on the code on PO300 indicates the cylinder number. It could be that one of your injectors went bad like Sepiroth states.

My 99 tahoe won't start. It used to me make that whining noise and now it doesn't. So I believe its my fuel pump. If its the fuel pump, how difficult is it to replace the fuel pump?:skep:

A big possibility that your MAF is going bad.... Try cleaning your MAF sensor with a MAF sensor cleaner. Autopart stores sell these cleaners. If your Yukon performs better, then you've found your culprit. ;) I had a similar issue with my 99 tahoe.... i had similar symptoms as you are describing...

after some serious thinking, u guys r right.... its not wise to drive at this speed, especially with my tahoe.... id hate to be in a wreck at this day and age... a least i know how to raise my limiter now... ;)

wierd shift.. whoa, i was getting worried there.... i thought i messed up my tahoe..... i have a 4door tahoe ls..... with a 3.73 rear end.... im assuming that my tahoe has the limiter because my speedo read 100mph max.... is there a way to modify my limiter?

engine rpm I actually have a 99 tahoe with a 5.7 vortec.... it has a 3.73, 4 speed tranny, and tire size is 275/60R/15 bfgoodrich.... im curious to know what are the engine rpms @ 80 MPH in these 00-06 tahoes.... i run 2500RPM @ 80MPH....
