Rich E, You might already know all this info but...here it is just in case....
As far as install goes with your 8120, You will need some other pieces to make this work. For the ipod ( you will need the Ipod-kenwood adapter), might be able to keep current sirius ant..but you will need SiriusConnect Universal Vehicle Tuner and cable, and need to transfer your service to new tuner, as for the steering wheel controls ( u need the correct Pac-module (or other manufacturer) for your GM vehicle...do you have Bose speakers, if so, are you keeping Bose or putting in different speakers and amps? depending on your choices, requires a different pac-module ), this Pac-module will also give you GM connectors so your not having to splice power, trigger, ground, and speaker wires etc...) as far as camera, there is another part(for auto reverse gear picture, but I think it comes with kenwood camera but not sure... hope this helps.....

Wow, thanks for the info. I do not have Bose speakers. I plan on using the factory speakers. They are fine for my needs. I'm just looking to upgrade the radio. Do you think sound quality will suffer without adding an amp?

Great thread. I too am considering this unit. I'd like to get it with all the bells and whistles Rich E mentioned. I'm wondering what the ballpark price is going to be once you throw in all the extra's. Steering wheel control, ipod adapter, PAC-module for Bose speakers, rear camera.

For the money would this be considered my best bet?

Thanks in advance.

To get an idea, go to the Crutchfield web site and build your system. Or there another place I use called Sonic Electronics. Go to either of these web sites and pick the products you want. Then see what the total is with out going through check out. Then if you like you can shop around to see if you can find a better price. Crutchfield does tend to run higher.

Newbie, Hi everyone. Great rides and info on here. BIG Thanks!
Quick question, I have an '07 with a flip down DVD in the rear that I never use but would like to be able too. My head unit is NOT the Nav unit, it is the DVD over CD unit. Is the flip down in the rear a "slave" driven unit. How can I change my head unit and retain this. I am contemplating the Kenwood (becasue the Garmin GPS is the best), Pioneer Z3, and an Eclipse. What are your thoughts???

@gtcream17 are you happy with your Kenwood? Would you recommend it?
Sorry for being off topic.

I'm in the process of upgrading my stock stereo and looking for a good one.

From my research Kenwood is a good option. But can't make up my mind. All the reviews I've read so far are hype garbage. Actually I've tracked down a site that tells it how it is. I was eyeing the DDX9704S stereo thanks to the review.

Can you tell me how bad the is the screen glare? What about the price is there enough value to justify it?

I'm open for suggestions
