    Timing....

What does it take to set the timing the our Tahoes? I drive a '99. Mechanic told me that the timing was 6-degrees retarded; what are some of the side effects of the truck running this way? What are the ways of adjusting the timing - is a new timing chain the only answer?

    99 Tahoe - Trouble Accelerating / Hesitation

That is for sure!! This is my 2nd one already. I had to replace it in '05; I think it failed prematurely. Lifetime warranty now. I do run the Tahoe hard on long trips and around down; bound to happen I guess.

    99 Tahoe - Trouble Accelerating / Hesitation

So I finally had to get back home. I checked the fuel pressure. The fuel pressure at engine idle was about 55psi, and at high revs it's 60psi. I ran the truck with the gauge attached and it ran at 60psi - 55psi when coming to a stop. Whenever I encountered the problem I was having on the...

    99 Tahoe - Trouble Accelerating / Hesitation

What about if; when I slam the gas for it to go....it hesitates, the engine REVS up, but the truck doesn't move and starts to sputter?! Still the fuel pump?

    99 Tahoe - Trouble Accelerating / Hesitation

Over the last month my 99 4WD Tahoe has been giving me problems accelerating when I give it a heavy foot. When I hit the gas down it loses acceleration almost like it's being starved of air or gas. When I hit the gas the engines just bogs down, begins to hesitate, and will not accelerate...

    Radiator Replacement.

I installed the H/D radiator a while back. It fit right into the stock location with no problems whatsoever. During my first test run it ran HOT; I had just installed a Autozone thermostat so I figured it was that....went to the dealer and bought an OEM thermostat, installed it, and things...

    Radiator Replacement.

'99 Tahoe - 4WD Also, does anyone know if there are benefits to installing a "Heavy Duty" radiator, AND whether or not it would fit comfortably in the stock location? I'm grabbing one from Autozone with Lifetime Warranty. Here are their dimensions: Heavy Duty: 2 row, 34" X 17 1/4" X 2 1/4"...

    Radiator Replacement.

'99 Tahoe - 4WD For those of you who have replaced a radiator before; Do I need to do anything special with the oil (oil) cooler, transmission (fluid) cooler pipe lines? Does engine oil and transmission fluid actually pass thru these lines that hook up to the radiator? Any info would be...

    A/C not kicking on

Where can I find one of these vacuum tools? Does Autozone loan these out? I'm having the same problem with my A/C system. The Compressor will not kick on and when I went to refill it with freon (using an Autozone kit) it noticed that it was empty. I refilled it, OR think I refilled it and...

BAD (and I do mean BAD) VIBRATION

I'm still getting a bit of vibration too. I'm starting to wonder if it's something in the tranny itself (Torque Converter), Oxygen Sensors, the intakes MAF (Mass Flow Sensor), maybe the throttle body is shot or needs good cleaning? It just seems like it could be that the engine is sucking in...

    Brakes.

For you guys with 99 & below body style Tahoes; not sure about the later models, when you go to change your brake pads and rotors..... ....specifically when you remove your brake caliper does your rotor flop round; is there nothing that is supposed to keep the rotor in place? C-clips maybe...

Setting Stepper Motors in Instrument Cluster/Panel

I recently removed my instrument cluster to check on my fuel gauge (it has been eractic and marking incorrectly). I noticed that the fuel gauge "stepper motor" was looser than the others so I figured I either have to get a new one (can I get an individual stepper motor for the fuel gauge?) or...
