    Paint stock wheels?

if you're gonna go to a pro... i suggest powdercoating. i did mine black, i think it looks pretty sick.

ha. that would be funny if it weren't so close to being true

    Warranty Question...

9 inches is slight? I would think they could give you the runaround on tranny issues too... it would depend on the dealer. If your service guys are jerks, they could try to claim pushing around a tahoe with 9 inches of lift and i'm sure some huge tires could cause additional stress to the...

    leveling kits

haven't done much research on the autoride... im running an LT1. too bad the z71s dont come from the factory with a 2 inch lift and 33s. i wish there was a 4 inch lift that wasn't so $$$$$. i'd love to run 35s but dont have 4-5k to spend on a lift/wheels/tires.

    leveling kits

You could always go with a 1.5 inch leveling kit. I have the ReadyLift 1.5 inch kit with 285/70/17 BFG TAKOs and i'm sitting just about level. If anything, the rear is still .25-.5 inch taller. I know someone makes a 1 inch rear spacer, cant remember the brand off the top of my head, but...

Tire Size and Photo Gallery for a Visual

for a 285/70/17 tire, the 285 is the width of the tire tread. the 70 represents the size of the sidewall. So 70 has a larger sidewall than say, a 50. For example, all the little ricers have the tiny sidewall tires that are like a 30 or 35 profile. If you're using stock rims, they are 7.5...

Tire Size and Photo Gallery for a Visual

Thats the only one I have right now... gf dropped the digi camera so i'm making her get me a new better one for xmas. With a 2 inch lift, you can clear 33's without any issues, but i think thats about it, unless you want to do a bunch of trimming. With my 285/70/17s i only get a little rub...

    TPMS???

Tire shops or dealers have a little handheld scanner tool that will relearn in about 2 seconds per tire. I took my old senors out of my old tires when i changed my setup around. Had the tire shop throw them on my new rims, had them mounted and balanced and put on, and then 10 seconds with...

    Performance mods worth it?

I waited till Justin came out to CA to have him do a tune in person, but he does plenty of mail-order tunes as well. My suggestion would be to email him and discuss your options. I think i remember seeing on another forum that he's heading down to baton rouge sometime soon. Check out...

    Performance mods worth it?

I got a tune from Justin too... MPG increased from about 15 to 17, driving it pretty hard. If i set the cruise on the freeway at 65-70, i can get 22-23 mpg. Didn't dyno it, so not sure aobut the actual hp gains, but he can remove a lot of the torque management which would get you off the...

    Tires and Powder coating rims..

BTW, the caps on these wheels were plastic, so they would melt if you powdercoat them... took a while to find the right mix of semi-gloss and flat black spraypaint to get them to match.
