    A few questions.

So you want to go off road or you want to make it look like it is ready for off road? Are you ready to get that thing dirty? Here is a pic after a day in the woods and it really wasn't all that muddy that day.

    Brake pedal problems

Is the "air" sound when it is running? If you hear the "air" sound when it is not running, then that is just air escaping from the brake booster. If you hear this when it is running then it is most likely time to replace the brake booster. A vacuum leak would usually be accompanied by a...

1997 Chevy Tahoe LS 4wd Auxillary cigarette lighter problem

If you are talking about the 3 lighter outlet cluster on the dash (I think 97 is prob similar to 96) I had a similar problem. One of the aux plugs went out. I basically pulled it out (no easy task) and cleaned all the contact points and it has worked well ever since.

Is there a fuse to cut off the DRL's?

Whoops guess I thought the original poster had a '97. OK so this might not be the case on '00.

Is there a fuse to cut off the DRL's?

I removed the fuse for the DRLs on my '96. As I recall though, the fuse for the DRLs is also the fuse for the factory foglights. This may not be the case for a '97.

    Lets talk brakes

Which hydroboost system are you looking at? Vanco doesn't list one on their website. I already have the upgraded sterring pump for the soon to be added winch.

    POS brakes

I put an SSBC kit on the front (multi-cylinder calipers, slotted rotors, their pads), replaced booster, replaced master cylinder, replaced most of the brake lines and although I saw a significant improvement, I am still not happy. Still too much pedal travel. I will be putting SSBC disc...

Charging System Blues ?????? (New Battery & ALT)

I have also discovered that a battery going bad can take an alternator with it due to the lack of current reg on these alts. I went through several alternators and batteries before getting it right. A note: I will never buy a Wally world battery again, even though I know many batteries...

Can We Talk Hoods for a Moment?

Thanks treepete. As an aside: I mentioned that I put the heat removal hood on to help keep the intake air cooler. I monitor the engine with an Autotap scanner and a laptop mounted on the console and the air temp did appear lower. I monitor alot of stuff but my main interest at the time...

Can We Talk Hoods for a Moment?

When I installed the K&N setup I also installed a Keystone fiberglass heat remover hood. Thought it might help keep the intake air cooler.

    99 Yukon 6" lift

Although I only went 4", the mechanic that installed my Rancho kit and the shop that aligned my front end after install were very impressed with the make up of it. I have been driving it about a year and it has worked great for me.
