Hi and Low beams at same time modification

You can buy kits for this on eBay. Less than $20 and all the parts are there. I put one on my Suburban. Only have to remove one parking light and put terminals on existing wires, then connect one long wire to power source. Easy mod.

    Cruise contol problem

Likely problem area is the multi-function switch (the turn signal lever) or the wiring harness that runs in the steering column that leads to the switch. Bad switch, frayed wires, bad connector -- all can cause intermittent problems.

    1997 Yukon Fuel Guage Question

You are going to be looking at another fuel pump with that strategy. The pump depends on being submerged in fuel to provide cooling. Running your tank dry will allow the pump to overheat and can cause it to fail.

    Blower Speeds Problem

Fan switch, or perhaps a bad ground on the circuit

    Interior lights

You can buy replacements on eBay for about $20 and put them in yourself. They have to be soldered in after you remove your old ones. http://cgi.ebay.com/DELCO-GM-DISPLAY-LIGHT-BULBS-FOR-CD-CASS-RADIO-10-each_W0QQitemZ250190015610QQihZ015QQcategoryZ48612QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem...

    Yokon power outlet/power inverter

Too late to get anything for your trip now, but for the future, at least a couple of companies, Airsep and Inogen, make oxygen concentrators that work off 12 volt cigarette lighter plugs. They are designed for airline use (of course the airlines won't let you plug them in; you have to use the...

    Intake manifold leak

Are you sure it's your manifold gasket? There's a coolant hose that connects to the manifold close to the throttle body on the passenger's side. Water seeping from this will drip from the engine and make you think it's coming from the gasket. Check it out before you tear into it.

    Intake manifold leak

You don't say what year or engine, so no specific answers for you. Whatever you have, you need to get some instructions, Chilton's or Haynes manual, or a service manual on DVD or something like that. The job is not rocket science, but there are some things that should be done in sequence and...

    the dreaded autotrac

On the inside of your glovebox door, there's a list of codes that tells you what options are on your vehicle. These are called RPO codes. There's a list here: http://www.c2e.info/rpocodes/ It's sometimes difficult to determine what the option really means from the code description, but I...

    97 Tahoe...Throttle Body Spacer??

I put one on a 5.7L 98 Suburban. It made an impressively loud noise when accelerating, and it made my mileage worse by about 15%. I bought it cheap on eBay and I sold it cheap on eBay.

A/C sealant problems in 99 Tahoe

So just don't mention that you have put in any refrigerant.

    A really dumb question

I'm missing your point. Left or right hand drive is the same regardless of which way you are facing too.

hardwire radar detector to rear view

I don't think the difference in height in an SUV and a car would make a difference. I have mine at the top of the windshield of a Suburban, and the range is excellent. Maybe there's some coating on the top of your windshield that inhibits the radar beam?

hardwire radar detector to rear view

Do you have an overhead console? It may be easier to find a wire inside that.

    A really dumb question

For some reason, I find that it's easy to remember that vehicles built for export to places where vehicles keep the to the left side of the road are labeled with "RHD" (right hand drive)

    hard shift when hot......

That shifting condition is called a "1-2 bump". It's possibly related to the control valve body of the transmission. Is your service engine light on? You may also be getting a "P1870 - transmission component slippage" code. GM has a service bulletin on it (TSB #010730023B). The heating...

That probably has nothing to do with it. It was probably that contact you had with space aliens that did it.

Tire Size on a Stock 4 Door 4x4

The first number in a tire's tire size information refers to width, not height: "For a tire such as "P225/50R16", The first number in the tire's size information indicates this tire is 225 millimeters across from the widest point of its outer sidewall to the widest point of its inner sidewall...

Noise From engine Bay Might be the fan but im not sure

Can you isolate the noise as to location, or can you describe it a little better? There are several possibilities. It could be a fan clutch, or the belt tensioner, or an alternator or A/C bearing, etc.
