Replace headlight 98 Escalade front clip

Hello again. I have a 98 Tahoe with an Escalade front clip. I beat my truck up off-roading the other day and broke a head light loose(I'm surprised that's all that broke.) They're old and hazy and have mud in them anyway so I figured I would just replace them, but I for the life of me can't...

    Need ****in' help! BAD!

I got the Jet Throttle body spacer from Summit.com and the Jet MAF sensor from Autozone. Those plus the Hypertech tuner got me, if my math is correct, about 22 miles a gallon. Ran me about 750 dollars all together, I think. The sensor and tuner are high price items. I went from SD to LA, drove...

    Need ****in' help! BAD!

I'll try resetting the PCM, again. And I'll inspect, do a listen, for any vacuum leaks more thoroughly. Could anything electrical cause this to happen? JennaBear, It's a '98 and if I get my truck working I am putting them back on. I was getting around 22 miles to the gallon with them.

    Need ****in' help! BAD!

Drumrpunk, Already attempted that. It doesn't idle. As soon as I turn the key it revs up to 3 grand. Like if you turned your ignition to start with your foot on the gas. Then dies, sputtering and growling. Rollin Thunder, Yes, because we all know a guy. Even if I did, my current problem is that...

    Need ****in' help! BAD!

SO... Want to smog my truck. Had installed, a Jet MAF sensor and Jet throttle body spacer. Neither are CA smog legal. So took off the spacer and went to Autozone to get an OEM MAF to drop in just for smog. Started truck, It immediately revved up to 3,000 rpm and then died. Or, it revs up to...

    Squeaky alternator

I've not replaced it. It's firm as ****. I thought of that. Could it still be bad even though it's got plenty of spring tension in it? The alt pulley also gets warm, I should say hot, unlike the others.

    Service 4wd light

Check all the wiring harnesses going to the transfer case. I had that light to when some wires got torn. A couple bucks at AutoZone and a few splices later, service light was gone.

    Thinking of a 4x4

I have a '98 with the electronic 4X4. And awhile back I had the same problem. While I was crawling around with it in 4X4, the wires going into the connector on the transfer case were cut. I'm guessing it had something to do with the baseball size rock I found on the skid plate. A few splices...

    2 More '95 questions - 4x4 how-to and tire pressure

I think your best bet on shifting in and out of 4X4 would not be to do it from a stop. Slow down to about a 3 mph roll and put it in neutral, then shift in to 4 or 2 wheel. As for the tire pressure... I was talking to a GM service guy the other day about it. He says your best bet for tire...

    Junkyard transfer case?

The transfer case on my Tahoe is busted, internally. I don't know what, but a GM service member told me this. He said the easiest way to fix it would be a new transfer case. I'm thinking I'll just go to a junk yard a pull an old one off another truck. Among other things. My questions: -How...

    Squeaky alternator

A few months ago I put on a new alternator. Just the other day I put on a new A/C compressor and a new belt. Now the alternator squeaks like a son of a bitch at anything off idle until it warms up. After a minute it goes away. Until I turn on the air in the cab. Then squeaks start and my battery...

I Think a Bird Lives Under My Truck

WD-40 while useful isn't the best lubricant. Something silicon based is best. It sticks better which means it will keep out water better. Besides your rubber and plastic parts WD-40 isn't that great for your metal parts. It's good for busting rust, but should be cleaned up and gone over with...

    Popping in 4-wheel drive

So driving around in two-wheel drive there is no noise. Only a slight clink while I'm driving around slow sometimes. But when I put it into 4 and give it gas I get a loud popping noise. I just replaced the CV shafts so I know it ain't that. Help would be appreciated. Any trouble shooting tips...

    Lowered Bronco? Maybe?

I'd never jump it 96. I think any thing jumping on hydraulics looks ****in' stupid. But rolling around in a lowered Bronco with the top off would be cool.

    Service 4wd Problem

I had a similar problem. All the lights out on my '98. Found out on one of my expeditions into a local mud pit, a rock tore through all the wires into the motor. Found a baseball size rock up in the skid plate, probably the assailant. Spliced 'em back together and problem solved

    Lowered Bronco? Maybe?

So a few months ago I picked up a '93 Bronco for 700 bucks. A ****in' steal, I know. But since I already have my lifted Tahoe. What would you guys think of a lowered Bronco? Probably not gonna happen but a friend put the idea out there. Think nice exhaust, murdered out, top off and lowered...

    HELP! poppoing!

Service and upgrade the parts I think. Are there any brands that would be recommended? I was planning on eventually upgrading the drive train from the transmission out. I guess I'll go the other way.
