I keep reading about the 5.3 engine and the trouble with AFM. However, I'm sort of confused as to when they fixed the issue. What year was it fixed? Furthermore, would a compression check be the easiest way to find out if the rings have the damage everyone is talking about. Thanks for your help.

Is there a way to test the voltage or ohms at the gauge to see if the sender is "sending" the correct electronic signal? Instead of having to pull the sender and test? It looks like a b!tch to do it that way.... help is appreciated!!
