depends on what you used to lower it in the first place...
there are no torsion bars on the 07 + trucks... coil spring all around
if you used a 2" drop spindle in the front you might be able to find a 1" spring, and change to rear springs to a 4" drop.... if you used drop springs all around then you will have to replace them... or cut them if your really cheap.

sorry, been reading 07 posts for a while... then yes you can unwind the torsion bar a little in the front, but you will need different coil springs in the rear, unless you have a 3/4ton and then it has leaf springs and you can use a lowering block.

Stock 3/4ton keys up front and 4" coils out back, or you can buy 3" coils and remove the isolators for 3.5-4" of drop once settled.

Just roll by a lift shop or 4wheel parts and ask them for some stock 3/4 ton keys, they usually have a few sets laying around from the leveling kits they install (I got mine from my brother's 03 duramax after I did his leveling kit). The silverado 2wds run coils up front and leaves out back so you won't be able to use either on your truck, I used the belltech 4" coils with the isolators removed. The alignment shop that installs the keys (or you can if you're up for it) shouldn't decrank the keys too much or you won't have a good caster split for the alignment. I'm raising my front up 1/2" just to keep from scraping on my driveway, the 3/4ton keys will give you 3" of drop with ease.

Like Boost said, definitely better looks if you're into that. Plus you lower your cg (center of gravity), so you'll get less body lean around corners, and it's a bit safer during emergency evasive moves with less chance of roll-over from the lower cg.

this is probably a dumb question, but the 3/4 ton keys will drop the 1/2 ton tahoe 3" in the front? straight install/swap? and w/ the 3/4ton keys, will the alignment be within specs? and anyone have any good ideas on shocks for a 3/5 drop? i may go 3/4 but probably 3/5. thanks

the looks is what the benifit is. like lifting a truck has the benefit of looks too,
lowered (pratical) less chance of a roll over.
lifted (pratical) more offroad capability
lowered looks cool to people who like that look, but i dont really, if you buy a truck why make it a car. IMO, no offence to lowered hoes.
lifted, looks cool to people who like that look, i like this look but its not pratical to people who dont offroad everyday IE, not as smooth of ride, tires can be noisy. but its still cool. but i dont think i would lift a daily driver.
