Good evening all.
I am at my end of ideas of how to fix a misfire cylinder 3. I have replaced the coil which created a temporary time of excitement until the light came on within a few miles. Changed all plugs and wires to GM specs and parts with no change to the light or misfire. Changed the fuel injector with another temporary time of excitement. The light is intermittent but even when it is out the sound of the misfire and feel is present. Just took it to the service station and was given the suggestion of a bad catalytic converter and I should replace the two and it might fix the problem. Everything I have read to this point says that a misfire causes the cat to go bad not bad cat causing the misfire. This suggestion was because the shop stated that 5.3 are known for bad cats.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks
